Well as there are quite a lot of new members to the forum, and some of the regulars are a bit forgetful, I thought it about time to plug the shop again.
Several reasons why you should always look HERE FIRST for all your model needs.
1) the prices are not to be beaten.
2) the service is in tip top. Just read some of the comments in the threads below.
3) the more you use the shop, the more bonus points you earn. (and what do points make....)
4) By using the shop you are helping keep this forum free
5) Buying your bits at the shop also means that you do not have to suffer advertisements on the forum.

They have a great selection of kits, tools, paints, glue and just about anything else you might need. AND if it is not on the shops web site, send a message and ask if he can get it in for you.
If you are in doubt as to what SMS is and how to get there...the banner at the top right of the page is a good place to start.

Totally agree that there is good reason to use Scale Model Shop. Not only does it keep this super friendly forum going, it is a no brainier for good service.

I have no affiliation with Scale Model Shop or John, in fact other than on here and the odd email question, I have never met or spoken to him. I remember his first steps into creating Scale Model Shop and I have been dealing with him ever since those first tentative days. What I have never been is disappointed with my purchases, let down by poor service or suffered delays in getting the goods I have ordered.

On a few occasions I have asked for items that he does not stock. I have had a quick and no messing about reply stating if it is not possible to obtain or how long it would take and a price if it is possible. This level of customer service is rare these days. I don't know how he manages it but in those early days if I ordered something by first class post, I got it the next day. With a growth of the business that level of speed has consistently been maintained. If something doesn't turn up the day expected, it will be the a Royal Mail or Couriers fault.

A classic example of the customer care was that recently I ordered from Scale Model Shop a new air hose for my airbrush. Within a couple of hours of my order being placed I received an email from John checking the type of air hose I had ordered as it was not the type I needed for my compressor. Ok, I had bought my airbrush and compressor from him some time before but he still took the time to check my order was correct. It wasn't and that simple bit of customer service meant I received the correct part not the useless one I had incorrectly ordered.

It's the little things that mean so much.

I have to agree with you graham I've only used johns shop once
Up to now as I try to support my local shop for paints and kits but for bigger items I'll be using Scale Model Shop.
Johns customer service is top notch and as the site uses live stocking levels it makes shopping easy

I have to agree with the others. I've bought a variety of items from compressor to airbrushes paints etc al from John at Scale Model Shop and never had a problem with the service or the shop.
I'll have to be honest when I've used Scale Model Shop I do get fair prices and very good service and feedback has always been positive.

Regards

In a month or two I intend to order the Ford Transit from him. I will ask if he can throw a couple of Scale Model Shop stickers in with it as I'd like to do a custom job on it.

Ian, I would totally love to patronize your shop on the rare occasion I buy modeling stuff (large stash) but 7000 plus miles adds a bit to the shipping:D............Jim:smiling3:

I would use your site more but as I live in the Colonies the shipping kills any deals you advertise. Sorry.

No worries Ray, we are aware that many of the new members are "across the pond".

That is my point. There are none (when logged in). It would be nice to keep it that way would it not?

John is always my first call for purchases.

looking back I see that I have orders at least once every month for the last year other than December 2020, sometimes three or even four times in a month. John has never let me down, great service.

I've used the shop before, sometimes it's out of stock of something I'll need on the hurry up so I go elsewhere, reluctantly as I feel quite loyal to it being a forum member!

But Scale Model Shop is always my first port of call.

I think most of us here in the UK are like Del. but John can't hold a stock of everything all the time so other places at times will stock that item when needed.

Got to agree with you, on most things John is the first place i look.... About the only exception is when I need the odd bottle of paint and so p&p can be an issue..
