This is the first kit I've finished in half a century! Also the first time I've used acrylics, and airbrush, and a few other things that I don't remember existing when I was a youngster. It's the Airfix starter kit, finished with the kit paints as well as some clear and Galeria matt varnish.

I hate masking, especially canopies, so I want to build a tank next, but there was an Airfix Mirage IIIC in a charity shop the other day for £1, and it would have been rude not to buy it...

Click on where it says upload a file and you should get an option to where ever your PIC is stored and click on said PIC and it should upload automatically

Great stuff Pete, that's a cracking 109! And with the (personally) despised kit paints!

Thanks folks! There's a lot wrong with it, but I'm not going to strip it and do it again - I'll keep it as it is to remind me of the mistakes, so I make a few less next time.

Maybe not perfect, but I would have been happy if my first had turned out so well.

As for the next, I think that's what we all look for - to make it better than the one we've just done. Onwards and upwards!

I'll be happy if my first attempt at an aircraft looked that good. Well done. :smiling3:

Cracking job for a first attempt pete! and to say you managed it with the starter paints too is incredible -theyre usually really see through and runny. looking forward to the mirage (btw if youre doing it silver dont use the starter paints as the silver is exceptionally bad!) cheers tony

It won't be silver, and it won't be the starter paints - I have a set of Hataka paints in Argentine colours, so I'll try those. (Yes, I know the IIIC was not used in the Falklands!)
