I was going to do a side by side build with the older kit but I am knocking that on the head and I will be doing a stand alone build.
I will be doing the winter camp and also I will be going the whole hog with pe for the inside and outside and a masking set.
I the meantime I will have a go at the new mould HAR.320160731_181417.jpg

I have this kit and the HAR3/3A kit. It's a massive improvement on the old Airfix Sea Kings but there are still areas that are disappointing IMO. Looking forward to your builds.

I've never really done a whirlybird but this seems a nice looking kit
With full pe interior this will no doubt be fiddly but with your track record this will be a breeze for you eh

That is a very nice kit, the folded tail and rotor option worked out nicely. I did the same kit a little while ago.

My top tip Peter would be to paint the front and back of the troop seats, you can see the backs through the windows.

Looking good Peter. I see you have added the HF aerial masts on the LH fuselage, this would make this a HAR3A, in this case the moulded on aerial mast on the LH sponson needs to be cut off. The HF aerial arrangement is the most obvious difference between the two marks.

It looks like you've certainly got the PE bug. The extra detail it provides is well worth the effort.

Just got round to doing a bit more or should I say lots.
All the PE that my hands can handle is on and all buttoned up and with the first coat of white for the winter camoP1040041.JPG P1040042.JPG P1040043.JPG

That looks really good and the etch lifts it to the next level.
Is it my imagination or has eduard etch suddenly increased to an almost unaffordable price?

Look forward tonyour next painting update.

Looking good Peter. Nice even white finish so far, did you spray it through your airbrush or from a can? I hate painting white
