Thanks Graham.

Normally I would, but the weather really has defeated me.

Lovely work Peter

Then tension in his right arm really does capture "about to pull the trigger"

I guess the belt is a natural break in painting the torso?

Only the early British slows you down!

Thanks Steve

The sculpt is very nicely done, though I think the forearms are a bit Popeye-like.

Yes, the break in the belt is to accommodate a grenade - not some horrible wound!

What can I say that I have not said in my many comments on all your other works. (corn ) there I don't think I ever said that lol. Kidding aside I find your contrast superb on the faces, love the way it always turns out awesome.

Kind words Rick, many thanks. It certainly doesn't always turn out well - you don't get to see the many failures.

Latest session:

That's the main part of the figure completed. I'm glad I didn't do camo as it's allowed the well sculpted folds and creases come out. The weather is not so warm today, so that allowed for a bit of wet-on-wet painting, ideal for shading uniforms.

Hi Peter
I like him a lot. Like Steve I reckon the arm muscles are perfect.

Cheers Jim. There's something a bit toy-soldierish about him. Perhaps it the pose - you always got one of those in a set.

That's the first figure finished:

100_2118.JPG100_2119.JPG100_2120.JPG100_2121.JPG100_2122.JPG

The last session involved painting and attaching the equipment, which was fairly straightforward. I also added straps for the gas mask (Tamiya always forget the short one at the bottom), water bottle and MP40, all made from paper. The rank badge is a Verlinden decal.

I'm going to have to put this project on hold for a while, as I have some bust commissions to paint. More later.

Really like that Peter. Looks great as a single figure and a lot better than I thought possible from one of these kits.

Glad you like him Graham. I often find that cheap plastic kits can turn out a lot better than some of the more expensive resin ones.

Another excellent figure Peter,

I can see what you mean about you always had one in the Airfix 1:72 jelly mould figures from the 60's and 70's.

He is good as a single figure, it would be difficult to have too many other figures around in an action setting without loosing credibility.

Will your patrons be comfortable with you sharing the finished commissions?

Hi peter
Excellent. He does make a fine stand alone figure.

Steve - Many thanks. I'm going to be working on some new busts for Peter Gillson's Sarnia Miniatures, and Peter's not sure about the rules on advertising. Probably no harm if I show some pictures of the finished articles, but we'll need to check.

Jim - Thanks for your continuing support.

More expense lol. I have all the Sarnia busts up to now so I will be getting any new ones :smiling:

Polux - Thank you. I'm not a big one for dirt, just enough to tie it to the base.

Pete - Cheers matey.

Graham - There are some nice subjects coming up. I'll try to post them.

Peter.
Sorry for not looking in on this, its hard to find things here.
Stunning work as always, pity about it not suiting another figure.

There is so much more going On John,

post moved very quickly off the front page

Once you have posted, I think you should get an Alert to let you know a new post has been added, I think?

Still the same super work from Mr Day though.

And 2 more busts for you to admire
