Finally got this one finished.Yet again I almost ruined a model with the final Matt clear coat.Again it's dried with white patches here and there. When I first started using Vallejo Matt clear a few years ago, I thought it was fantastic stuff and almost idiot proof. But every now and again I get this problem. So I started using the satin one instead. On the last two builds the problem has come back to haunt me again. This time I even decanted the whole bottle into a plastic shot glass and gave it a really good stir. Then I added a bit of Vallejo thinners. But I'm still having problems.I managed to sand some white patches off the model with micromesh and touched it up again. So it's not as bad as it was.Im so pissed off with the stuff that I'm not using it again.I will get some Alclad Matt clear. all of the Alclad products I've used are excellent.I thought about weathering the model to cover it up.But I would probably make it worse as I've not had much success with weathering.image.jpg

A very nice Mossie Dave! I dunno about Vallejo matt coat, but I use Humbrol & I find it very good.

Well that came out nicely Dave, despite the varnish issue. Another lovely Mosquito for the collection.

Nice work, I always used Tamiya Matt spray varnish with no problems, currently using Vallejo and it is a bit twitchier.
