Very nice, try getting some Tamiya masking tape, use along edges and define lines, leading edges etc that way you can get a better crisper line. Good build though and it looks like you had fun too.

Nice I like the rough edge on the spinner as it looks like it's been painted on by hand

What can I saw its a hurricane so I'm pleased anyway :D

Thanks Si, I did use the Tamiya masking tape like you suggested but the eyes & fingers are not as good as they used to be lol..

I know my painting/weathering skill will never be anywhere near as good as a lot of the builds. But with my poor health it gives me a lot of pleasure building the models.

Hi Alan, Yes you are right the spinner was painted by hand... & a rather Unsteady hand at that :smiling3: :smiling3: .

Very nice build John. It's great to receive positive comments about our work, but more important is the fun and pleasure we get out of seeing the model come to life - irrespective of how the builder views the end result.....

Well done that lad!

It gives it a natural look John , many of these things were painted by hand to personalise their aircraft :smiling3:

Nice one John. Masking spinners is a tricky job and there a couple of threads on here giving a variety of techniques, several of which are completely beyond me!

Great to hear John, you just do what you can, kudos for you enjoying your modelling-that is the main thing.

Thanks Ron, yes it is always nice to receive comments about our work, of course positive comments are the norm on this site.

It gives me a lot of pleasure to look at the finished build & think how good it looks, and then I go & spoil it by painting it LOL... :smiling3: :smiling3: :smiling3: .

It took me some time looking at the spinner & trying to think of an easy way to do it before hand painting it Alan. LOL.

Thanks Doug, I tried masking the spinner but gave that up as a bad job & so as you can see I painted it free hand.... It might have been better if I had painted it first before putting it on the plane LOL..

Nice build Jono, looks like you made a good job fixing that awful wing root step! Comments have already been made regarding masking and lines. It sounds like you have enjoyed building this one, and that is by far the most important aspect of any modelling and one which many of us lose sight of. Nice job of one of my favourite all time aeroplanes. :smiling3:

Thanks Joe, the wing root was not so bad once it was glued & clamped in place the picture is of the dry fit to see how things lined up.

As I am at home 24/7 all my modelling is more like a day job for me LOL.

The Hurricane is a great model & aircraft but tends to get over looked by the Spitfire.
