Some of my (quite serious) photography friends use Photoshop Elements (£69). It is relatively affordable and my friends like it for doing quite adventurous things.
I have Photoshop. I bought it about 15 or more years ago when it was relatively cheap and now have Photoshop CS6 which is not in the Cloud (Photoshop CC) as a subscription: mine is the actual software.

I have just discovered:

I don't know how "reliable" the site is. Another site is selling it for £329.

ebay is offering it "Buy it now" for £95 as "a direct download from Adobe".

Check first!
Mmmm, I'd be wary of this! Adobe sell photoshop for around £600 if you want cs6, an utter rip off (says the man who bought full creative suites 5 & 6!) Elements is very useful at £70 odd, but does not have masking - this shouldn't bother the casual user though! Can't recommend PaintshopPro too highly, £24 for v. X3

There pretty cool Kieth I have an interest and a laymans knowledge of the cosmos it's a pretty cool genre:smiling3:
It certainly is, every clear night I'm outside using my telescope, fully computer controlled and guided of course. These days I spend half my viewing time looking at the night sky via my laptop rather than having to squint through the eyepiece at awkward angles. Isn't technology great! Cheers

That's a large and intricate image border to select so you can paste it onto the star background, must have taken a while. Or maybe you took the pic against a highly contrasting background, like the blue screen used in CGI, and had the automatic select do most of the work. I love playing around with PhotoShop and as astronomy is my main hobby I spend many happy hours teasing out small details in my astrophotographs. Cheers. Keith.

Mine wasn't as involved as that Kieth :D all I did was take a photo in front of a black backgrown cropped it then altered the lighting and contrast and added some stars took me about five minutes :smiling3:

I think I like the first one because it looks old but it shows its a model as you can see the edges of the base giving it an unnatural look the second looks better because it fills the screen more and limits the surrounding emptiness so I did this

And first wins hands down for me :D View attachment 104728
