I know you can get wheels on ebay to suit the mk2 not sure on the scale though
The wheels in the kit Are Minilites but tyres are slick racing tyres & not chunky rally tyres  .

Hi Colin, Slicks would be illegal on a tarmac/road event ....

the box artworks shows the car on a loose surface & tread on tyres ... :smiling3:

Could you not put your own tread pattern into the slicks with a small soldering iron or a hot knife?

If you're going to buy some tyres for it anyway you've nothing to lose by trying;)

I know this is a totally different scale but might give you an idea

I remember getting round this problem by buying a cheap 1.24 scale diecast car and whipping the wheels and tyres off of that as a solution. Just a small thought and maybe another option.

Oh dear, my last idea was going to be Scalextric, but they're 1:32 I think.

Hi Paul, Thanks for the video on re-cutting tyres, until I became disabled I was a HGV Fitter for 35+years & have recut a few tyres myself LOL...

As my model building is mostly of the OOB type I am going to leave the tyres as slicks :smiling3:

John..
Artistic license, something the modelling community (well me certainly) is allowed to use, in bucket loads, by law. !
