I built the Jackal kit Laurie ........ It goes together really well. The only criticism I had with the kit is the tread pattern on the tyres is all wrong (I only know that because I worked on the project to build the real ones). There is a French company that makes replacement wheels with the correct tread on them .......... The paint colour guide is good with the exception of the seat coverings. The paint guide has the as Khaki ( I think) but the seats on the jackal are more of a "Buff" colour ... But they do contrast better on the model in Khaki............Apart from that, it's a pretty good representation of the Jackal ....... I'm looking forward to this one .......I'll be watching it.

Another very nice model from the Airfix stable.

Very nice fine pieces which go together as well as you would hope. The detail in the pieces is exceptional. The instructions are very good. The PE which I would imagine is an Airfix/Eduard relationship are excellent.

Thanks David, John and Ian. Very nice to work with. Also have the Coyote the real 4 wheel.

Finding a little strange as having built mostly aircraft until recently straying into this area. The strange bit is near only one main colour. Most aircraft have a number of colours two top camouflage and then an under belly colour.

Also military vehicles have half hidden bits under wheel assemblies which entail painting these pieces before assembly. Entails a bit more thinking ahead and dry assembly work. But just as interesting as aircraft. Not sure about tanks though.

Not an easy one to show as it goes together very well. No real difficulties. That is other than breaking a wheel off. But the detail is superb. The receiver/transmitter has a beautifully fine minute aerial.

Disappointed in the PE which is an Airfix option no doubt from Eduard fold. Some does not look authentic some is not as good as the original plastic. Some is OK about 40%. But then that is my opinion. To be fair I have not the patience to mess with some of the most complicated parts as the enhancement does not seem worth the amount of time spent ie I can get onto the next model much sooner.

So this is what I have done since the last. Not to exciting and my apologies for that.

Very nice build so far Laurie. The vehicle itself looks to be brim full with little details - the etch will make all the difference.

Looking forward toseeing this progress more.

Good work so far.

What`s the fit like?

I have their Land Rover pair with PE set to build.

I`m not impressed with the tyres, though, and I`m looking for after-market replacements before I start them.

Always been a weak spot in Airfix kits, have their tyres.

That's looking great Laurie ....... I broke a wheel off mine when I build it as well.......... Maybe everyone who built the Airfix Jackal has broken a wheel off at some point ???? Now wouldn't that be "Spooky"

Built the WiMK Landrover and I thought the wheels OK. But admit I am not an expert on wheels.

What do you think of these Malcolm ? Are they any good ? ( PS your answers will not be held against you ;) )

Fit very good Malcolm. Any difficulties which are few may of been of my making.
