I've decided to put this in the under construction section as there will be a lot of stuff in this dio but I won't be doing under construction threads for the vehicles as they are old kits and if your into armour then there's a good chance you've built one I will however mention any horror stories that happen :smiling3:

I've decided to do a British scene this time as I've got hold of quite a bit of British equipment from the North African campaign:smiling3: first up is the very old Italieri crusader III kit from 1976 , for its age it's not a bad kit with only some minor fit issues , the tracks on this kit are the best I have ever seen and I count tracks from dragon in this , the detail is fantastic with not a seem line inside or any flash

weathering will be added once I know what colour the base will be

Next up is the building , it's the old airfix desert outpost , it will be filled and painted , I cut out the hatch to the roof so I could put the ladder there it seemed silly having it on the outside of the building when there is stairs already there, it's got great detail inside and out but the walls are way to thin in reality , there will be tables , chairs, sand bags , Bren guns and hopefully if I can find it in my bits box a 30 cal browning , it will also have Jerry cans from British , American and German to show the spoils of war might even throw in a MG 34 , :smiling3:

Yes mate and I did point that out in the first post :D I'm hoping a paint job figures and loads of equipment will detract from it :smiling3:

I like the Crusader Alan, British tanks have a weird ' prehistoric ' look about them!

I know what you mean Patrick but I do think they had a distinctive look that set them apart from other nations , it's like you could see one and know it was British immediately

I think what does make them look prehistoric is the rivets it like a throwback to the First World War:smiling3:

I had an epiphany, this is a staging area for a big offensive so I thought I've got vehicles figures equipment but it needs something else

And it's this View attachment 110409

a scratch built water well made from styrofoam pizza base in 20 minuets , I'll leave this to dry completely and then fill it with polyfiler, I have a bucket rope and logs so I can finish it off :smiling3:

Oh I don't know mate , I'd agree with them laughing at the Tilly and the honey but that changed when the crusader was fitted with a 6 pounder it was more than a match for the panzer III and IV they had in the field at that time but then came the tiger I and they started laughing again:smiling3:
