Homemade fridge compressor

I've got my near-silent compressor going, using the compressor unit from a fridge-freezer.

If anyone's interested in it, let me know & I'll post some photos along with a description.

Cheers

Yes Patrick love to hear how you did it and how it works. Also interested in the size.

Also are you going into production ?

Ha-ha as much as I'd like to Laurie, I think the sheer weight of a fridge compressor precludes that idea!

It's a great idea, I use one too, made it from fridge compressor, fire exstinguisher and 12v computer fans to keep motor cool to name just some of the components, great even flows and very quiet

With hermetic compressors we had to add oil to the refrigerant. I take it this does not matter in your set up?

It all appears to work well enough, I've only just finished it to be honest.

Sounds like an idea Fred Dibnah would certainly approve of. True back street engineering.

Anyone thought of making a spray booth with parts from an old vacuum cleaner?

Nope, but have thought of using 12V DC fans, same ones that are fitted in proper spraybooths, to make a booth...in the end just bought one lol.
