has anyone built one of these ? I'm having real problems with it

The instructions are very confusing , the illustrations don't match the parts and look opposit to the part your actually building , this is a big problem when your dyslexic,

I have been told by everyone that dragon kits are monsters the best but on looking at what I've done so far and comparing that to th italieri and tamiya jeeps I've built I have to say their not worth twice the price of the tamiya and three times the price of the Italieri

So if anyone can give me any advice I'd be very grateful:smiling3:

Good morning Alan!

I suppose you are asking for the 1/35 one.... :smiling3:

I built a dragon jeep...but was the 1/6!!

Anyway I can say the final result is good. I remember some wrong draws on the instructions sheet....so my best advice is take care and "prove" all the pieces before you glued it.

I know it don't help so much.... :smiling3:

Yes it is the 1/35 :smiling3: I always dry fit the pieces Polux but even that was confusing looking at the drawing as it was back to front  I've managed to get the underside done now but it's a very fiddly kit , thanks :smiling3:

you'll get no arguments from me there Paul , I thought I'd start with something small to get some practice as I don't want to tackle my Kfz.7 straight off , if this jeep gives me any more grief I think the Kfz.7 might be a crash dio :D

Yep!!!

Anyway Alan....I should recommend, one day, the 1/6 one.

Once build is amazing!!! :D

Ps: you have two versions, the normal one and the SAS.

I haven't seen the 1/6 about so I'll take a look at Telford in November :smiling3:

Yes that's correct but you only get instructions for the sas version and that's the one I want to build so it's fine I just have to take my time on it :smiling3:

Unfortunately Alan, you've picked one of the worst Dragon kits to build!

Their SAS jeep is very poor, the Tamiya one is much better. You might want to consider buying a Tamiya version cheap from eBay, use that as the base (especially the wheels) & transfer over the detail parts from the Dragon kit.

But Dragon are renowned for their poor instructions - parts incorrectly numbered, sprue parts not matching the illustrated ones & simply cramming too much into each section.

Stick at it though, I'm sure you'll beat it into submission!

You're not the first Al to have issues regarding instructions on Dragon kits. I have seen a few started and left as modellers just got fed up.

Hope you can make it work mate.

I think I'm over the worst of it but I have to say the fit is terrible, I was going to add the engine and have a figure looking at it but I've now decided to do the basics and have it as if it's going to going out on patrol

Mind you I like the thickness of the PE some pe you get is so thin if you look at long enough it starts to bend !
