I like your idea of the grit shaker, where did you come up with or steal that from!
Chap called Colin Dougie who was a member of this forum. He introduced it to the forum.

I christened it Grit Colin. Do not know if any body else uses it. Great for those pieces which

are very difficult to wet and dry.

Needs some better grit as there is not enough small stuff. Works well. Got a dentist's

vibrator and stick a round plastic box on it switch on for 4 mins and comes up really smooth and dull.

Latest I did with just a hand shake.

Gives primer a good grip.

I have a similar box........ But I use old "shot" from our Shotblasting Contractor........... If you have a shotblasting company thereabouts go pay them a visit. They have heaps of the stuff which is no good to them.

Yes. I find that the Hasegawa kits offer under detailed cockpits, but excellent fit and fantastic panel lines.

Not the same thing Laurie......... Shotblasting companies use a grit, different grades depending on the job whether they are descaling heavy rust or frosting glass. The grit has sharp edges. After a while the edges wear down and is not so effective......... That is called "Used Shot" ........ and pretty much they dump it........... But it's ideal for fine abbraiding in a shaker (Colin) box.

Good tip mate - just be careful what shot you put in your box, especially if Laurie has old his dental vibrator on the go at the same time. The space time continuum may be distorted. Like my mind?

Seriously though guys, cheers, I will definitely be giving this a go - with the models as well of course ;)

Coming along very nicely Laurie. Are you doing complete head transplants on Jimmy and Riddle?

After a lull now back on track.

Progress so far. This is a very nice model. All fits well except for one point which fortunately

is on the underside but a bit of fill some judicious workmanship, ha ha, I hope will do the job.

There are minor diferences between the Us and UK craft. But frankly you woul need to be an expert

to know what they are. Used a couple of pieces from the Revell model on this Hasewaga model.

That is all. Apart from which the first UK Apaches where USA total dereivatives they were shipped

over as 2flat packs ". Life gets so complicated :eek::eek:

Just to say I am so pleased I abandoned the Revell as the Hasawaga is not far from the new Airfix quality.

Haha jost kidding, this is looking good mate, I like the cockpit but what actually caught my eye was the mention of some sort of magical primer... do tell!

Not sure about magical Dougie. Not just yet any way time will tell but it seems to have a good number plus points.

Pilots look like extras from doctor who with their clawed left hands and "riddle" seems to like to brag a bit !!!!

Excellent work as usual
