You've got more wheels than the 6:15 to Crewe there. Looking forward to all the silvers going on.

Small update , the silver has started to go on , the weapon/fuel pod being the first recipient of modelair aluminium . Ive also painted the multitude of parts that go together to make the complicated undercarriage arrangement. hopefully more work will get done this weekend now its cooled off a bit, cheers tony

Does the black undercoat make the silver / bare metal look better then? Just curious as my Mig will be bare metal finish, ordered them from John earlier but normally I use Halfords white or grey rattle cans for a primer. The weapons pod seems to have a much deeper colour because of the black primer?

Oh and looking good, but that undercarriage looks a challenge.

It certainly helps to see where youve sprayed Neil! as for the depth it does give different effects depending how thinly its coated . One of the main reasons I did it was so the panel lines would maybe stand out a bit more , as I didnt rescribe them , we'll have to wait and see if it works! cheers tony

That's a very nice finish you've got there Tony - spraying metallics is not something I've ever been successful with

Cheers patrick , these modelair metallics seem to suit me , i used to dread nmf too , but these are quite painless -as long as you leave them enough time to dry theyre fairly robust , cheers tony

Hmm but how would I live it down if Laurie discovered I'd used a Vallejo product!

That looks great. I've always thought the Germans were great Engineers, but the Americans certainly built some interesting aircraft as well.

Well after getting the basic silver on this ones been sat in the corner frightening me ! But after seeing Jasons (wendall) superb Lightning it inspired me to grasp the nettle and start the tricky masking and spraying of the different shaded panels. I started with the engine pods as these have a few different shades , and gave the panels various gunmetal shades followed by a misting of brown and further mists with transparent blue mixed with gunmetal. I'm quite happy with the way its turned out , next is the different shades on the airframe , and theres lots !  cheers tony

I'll have to hide that Lightning in shame. That looks absolutely fantastic mate.

Well ive made a start on the myriad different shaded panels . One of the most noticeable and thus the first to be tackled was the two light grey/silver areas on the raised bits on the wing top . Next i did the ailerons and rudder in a darker shade of silver but its dried a very subtle shade , not easily seen. Theres loads more to do so more updates as they get done , cheers tonyView attachment 117704
