Dave,
I made the HobbyBoss 1/48 Kittyhawk OOB, also a 'quick assembly' model - very nice detail, with an AM cockpit it could be the basis of a really nice modelView attachment 301731
I also have a 1/48 P-38 Lightning 'quick assembly' that I got at a real bargain price
View attachment 301733View attachment 301732 As you can see, most of the airframe is in 2 parts, engraved detail etc.........

I have to agree Dave. These HobbyBoss quick builds are really nice, I have a few in the stash including the P-38. Maybe they don't have the detail of the uber kits available today, but I don't really have the skills to do justice to them, so these quick build kits are just the job for me.

PS I hope my Kittyhawk comes out looking as good as yours!

Ah, but it's in 1/48 scale - easier to finish than the smaller scale............... I have moved up to the larger scale, 1/72 being toooo small for my eyes, and fingers
