Rick,

Correct, there is still one on display in a museum somewhere - the designer was also convinced that the Germans stole this idea when building their V weapons!!! :upside:.

So all that work on Airbus is not wasted - cant wait to see the next design!!

I suppose it’s Jon’s turn, or Rick’s if Jon doesn’t want to post anything?

I'll have a go while we wait for Rick.
Can you identify these troopers? And which particular unit avoided a massacre, retired in good order during the rout and provided covering fire for survivors?

That's right Paul. The weapon is probably either a Snider or Swinburne-Henry carbine.

Swinburne-Henry carbines used the same .45 ammunition as the standard British army Martini-Henry. I like the fact that these troopers also carry traditional weapons too.

Natal Native Horse it is.
Specifically the magnificent Edendale Contingent from the christian mission whose cool withdrawal and disciplined fire probably enabled many of the'fugitives' to get across the river ahead of the assegais.
Your go Tim.
Jon.
P.s. The picture isn't them.
