Well here we go. All finished.

As I mentioned, I saw Ian's marvellous plaque as a tribute and Ron's picture of the Emhar kit reminded me I had one in the stash. Add that to a brief discussion here some time back about using military kits as chess pieces, and here's my offering:

Three nice, shiny bronze statues and a painted field gun from 'back in the day'. I thought the soft details of the Emhar figures suited the idea of cast bronze figures as they share similar limitations of what can be cast as a single item.

I can sort of imagine this appearing as a 'gate guardian' outside the main gate of some Artillery Unit; kept nice and clean and shiny by those who have upset the sar'nt major!

Hope you like it, and all comments/criticisms are welcome

Thanks Si. No special finishing needed. Undercoated with Halfords Grey Primer and then two coats of Citadel Warplock Bronze painted with a hairy stick.

Looks great, I once did a 1/25 scale soldier, got it off Ron IIRC, I did a similar thing as I wanted it as a monument. I painted in gold-bronze enamel and then did a verdigris and a black wash, came out okay.

I do like yours though, a rich darker colour.

I thought of using a wash but figured that if this was indeed a 'gate guardian', then it would be kept meticulously clean - both for unit pride and as a sort of KP for miscreant troopers!
