I’ve just caught up with this build Tony. Excellent work on detailing the kit, the cockpit looks amazing.
Will you be doing a really weathered finish to the paint work? Heavy chipping?
Looking forward to seeing the progress
Cheers

Looking fabulous Barry. The office looks awesome and I love the wooden top on the navigator’s table.
You’re blazing a trail with this build - a pathfinder!!!

Hi Neil
I simply love the work you’ve done on these figures. The detail work (both with putty and other materials) is sublime. The composition is well thought through and the resulting vignette will be breathtaking. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the figures painted and seeing the...
Great work on the Camel Ian. The wicker seat, cockpit detail, seatbelt all look excellent. And the engine really does have that metallic sheen.
Quality stuff.
Loving the vibrant red cowl and wheels! They will really pop on the finished model

Interestingly I've found a site where the crews are listed
https://www.kbismarck.com/article2.html
It seems for the Bismarck attack 3 man crews were used
This is why I love the hobby, you gain such a large amount of info on the subject as you go.
Thanks again Dave

Many thanks Dave for confirming this, you're a star. :thumb2:
I think, on the Bismarck attack, a navigator would be necessary. I know that they'd already targeted the Sheffield by mistake so navigating was very important. I think I'll go with a 3 man crew for this build but you are right, they...
In answer to my own question, it seems that the pilot could loose the torpedo by flipping a toggle switch to his right. If this is the case then I can confidently sculpt the observer standing. Post rationalising the pilot gesture: his waving hand would indicate 'torpedo gone'. I'd like to go...
Hi guys
I've been doing a bit more test fitting of the pilot. He seems to fit ok apart from his left arm which I've shaved down a little. The folds in the fabric of his jacket etc will be remedied when I fill the joints in the limbs.
Here's the test fitting process...
Now I have a question...
Brilliant work Colin. The detail on the engine and the paintwork looks terrific. The prop is awesome. All of these very detailed parts are going to cone together to make a very special model.
Cheers

Nice work Steve.
Can’t beat the good ol’ Willis Jeep. And don’t worry about the odd mishap. It’s how we overcome such setbacks that really matters. The Jeep looks great so far and I look forward to seeing it finished.
Welcome back to the hobby :thumb2:
