1/10th Viking Warrior by Young Miniatures

Another superbly cast and sculpted miniature bust from Young Miniatures - this time a bust of one of my ancestors (probably... well, according to my granddad anyway). Once again no issues with construction, fit of parts was excellent and, although the axe came in two parts, its handle joint is cleverly concealed by his right hand - no filler needed! That's the kind of attention to detail I absolutely love. And it's a VERY long axe... =)

Painting-wise, I gave painting a Viking design on the shield a go - not perfect, but a lot better than I thought it would turn out, considering it was done freehand (I am a lazy so-and-so and I'm impatient...) but with a little care and attention the result I think isn't bad at ll..
