Lovely work Si, it looks so natural and realistic. Look forward to seeing the troops added.
Thanks Joe, I wanted a peaceful setting, something that could just be an everyday occurrence...a gentle stroll...of course normal folk don't tend to go for strolls with a MG42 LOL.

Thanks Ian, it worked really well, got some foliage from Colin and that has helped to bring it to life.

Hi Aaron, the tree is a resin one bought many years ago for a Warhammer project, but I got the wrong scale and so was forgotten about. The branches are real though and the fence is all scratch made.

Thats awesome, what did you use for foliage?
The branches are...dunno really, just little branch things, drilled the tree and glued in. The other foliage is various grasses, summer-to give a lighter look-also this is shorter, winter-to give darker patches-this is longer and you can tuft it more. The flowers are made from old paint brush bristles-sprayed up and then glued at the tips and a product called flowersoft is just applied to re-create flowers. Around the base of the tree is a mixture is brown flowersoft and fine brown flock.

Top work Si, coming on a treat.Ron
Most kind to say Ron, I have added some grasses to raise it up and tuft it more as real meadows are not all smooth.

FINISHED DIO.

Here is the finished dio with soldiers in place. My wife bought me them and they came part painted as she thought it would help my hands, they needed to be touched up and highlighted and assembled some pieces, fiddly but I managed. Got them sited and am happy with the result. I just need to varnish the base, but that is it-done.

Have got some flash pictures, some B&W and had a go at an early colour wash tint, to give that faded colour, oldie look.

Comments always welcome. Thanks.

Thanks Alan, he does look rather good, thought of having the boss by the fence just watching his boys. The tree is bought, resin bought it ages ago for a Warhammer dio but bought the wrong scale so it sat in the bits box for years. All airbrushed by me though. Glad you like it mate.
