Here are some pictures of the finished model. It went together reasonably well, but the decals were very poor.

The harbour wall is made of polystyrene and the sea is clear silicone, shaped with a nail and a coffee stirrer. I experimented with the wave tops and used bits of cotton wool. The disused beacon is made from bits of sprue.

My one regret is I made the landward side of the harbour too short....it's a bit out of balance and an inch or so would have made all the difference....steady!

I'm glad it's finished as I got well fed up knocking bits off the boat!

I hope you like this offering and thanks again for your comments during the build.......

Cheers,

Ron

Superb as usual Ron, I think the home made break water and rough sea is fantastic. I would give you 5 Stars if I knew how. Cheers Derek

Thanks ever so much for the great comments on this. I really do appreciate them. Not to mention the *s!

I did scratch around for something to top the waves with for some time. I'm glad it will be of some use Ian.... I'm sure there is a better method for breaking waves but it's a start...

Colin, the crew are ashore.....Whoosh...Bang! The maroon's up, pagers sounding, feet running......

The shout is on!

Thanks again chaps,

Ron

Very, very good Ron, outstanding. Is it sealant you used to build up the waves?

I love this so much. 5 star from me.

Thanks for your post Si, after seeing your own excellent seaborne stuff - and under - your post is praise indeed!

Yes it is just clear sealant, built up enough so it won't fall over completely when messed with...if you follow.

Cheers,

Ron

Another ***** Ron special. You definitely have the eye for detail and, more importantly, the ability to re-create it!

Thanks for the compliment Dave, I appreciate it. I'm still using your coffee stirrers....I used one on this as a trowel!

Gregg, Peter and Ian. Thanks boys for the enthusiastic posts! They make for very nice reading.

Considering there are not many folks on here making 'floating things' it's great to get such a positive response.

Thanks again,

Ron
