Academy 1/72 F-86 E

Here is my Academy 1/72 Sabre in the colors of USAF Korea 1952. It is a nice little kit ,good fit and detail. I rather like the seperate slats for the wings.

The only real hassle was the decals that were slightly out of register on the star/bars.

I opted to paint on the wing and fuselage bands, with mixed results.

Alclad airframe allu, dark allu and pollished allu ware used over gloss primer sanded with 12000 pads.

Basically just the front black stripe that is to wide, but I am OK with that, lessons learned for next time :smiling:

This little kit went together so well I got another one to do in 1960-70's SAAF camo scheem.

It is easy enough to convert to a Canadair CL 13B Mk6

Good looking model, great build from me. I have noticed that Academy decals can be poor, but they are cheap and cheerful kits I suppose. Excellent paint job too.
