Hi Guys!!!

Something new from my workbench. It's Academy's Fw 190 D-9. This kit is a great alternative to Tamiya kits, only the Decals are hard to use.

This D-9 is the "Red 13" of the famous "Sachsenbergschwarm", flown by Oberleutnant Klaus Faber in April 1945. The "Sachsenbergschwarm" was part of "Jagdverband 44" and had to protect the start and landing phase of the Me 262 Jetfighters at Munich-Riem Airfield. The "Sachsenbergschwarm" was also known as "Galland's Flying Circus" or "Parrotsquadron".

Hope you like my "Dora".

Cheers

Stefan:rolleyes:

Nice job,I love these Doras!

Luckily this one was well photographed by various Americans at the end of the war!

This is glorious. Love the backdrop but the plane is the star. I'm with most who have mentioned the underside...it would've driven me mad. 5*****

Nice job Stefan. I like the Academy kits too. Looks like I'll have to get hold of this one.

Very nice. I generally like Academy kits also, but the decals - no swastikas in Academy kits.

Hi Guys!!

Thanks for your kind words. To make the white stripes was really simple. I painted the underside completely white. Then I applied thin strips of Tamiyatape. Now I painted the underside completely red and removed the tape strips again. That's all.........and in the end I forgot to apply the "Balkenkreuze".....aaargh!!!!

Cheers

Stefan :D

Good job Stefan. Is the underside red on white or white on red? What kind of tape? Nice job!
