Afternoon all

I am looking for very small/fine files, escapement ones? A set is expensive but found a 2.3mm round file on evibay, has anybody else bought these??

I have removed the anchor chains from Graf Spee and have drilled out the holes in the deck for the chains, however they are slightly oval. I have the generic set of diamond micro files but they are too big!

Something like this might help Bob
However, I would check with them to make sure it’s fine enough.

Edit, according to the questions section it goes down to 1.2 mm

Found another modelcraft set 0.6 to 2mm, that will do the jobs
There are lots about Bob. Mine are designed to be used in pin vices, but they pre date the modelcraft ones by many years ;)
The advantage of broaches over needle files when enlarging holes in sheet stock is that a five sided broach won’t drift off centre. If you do go down the file route you will find that simply rotating them anti-clockwise will do what you want. If you rotate them clockwise they wind into the hole like a drill and bind. Personally, I would aim to get both because in my opinion they are both very useful tools :thumb2:
