Some nice work and decaling Russel.
You could do with giving it another thin coat of paint next time just to get rid of the grey plastic showing through in some parts. But like I say overall a great effort.

Good first effort Russell , as Ian says Theres a few places the paint is a bit thin ,was it a Starter kit? and if so did you use the little pots that came with the kit? These are notoriously see through , something like Humbrol enamels or Vallejo acrylics would be better , cheers tony

I did try using humbrol enamels but think I thinned it down to much. I am doing a short Sunderland next which I intend to try and you the air brush for.

Great effort for your first build.
What scale and brand is that Russell? If it is 1/72 I can imagine that tackling the canopy paintwork can seem like a real PITA but it's not that difficult to achieve an acceptable finish (depends how you measure acceptable). Why not try using masking tape or pre-cut paint masks on your next build? Setting yourself a new technique to try on each new build is a good way to expand your skills and confidence. I have been back in plastic aeroplane modelling for 5 years and I am still trying to master getting a smooth paint finish, working with etched brass and varnishing.
Whatever you do next be sure to look or ask for help on this forum, you wont find it wanting.

...or a cocktail stick, when the paint has dried but not fully hardened - it is amazing how easily the frames clean up!
