Me and my lad love the Alien film franchise (except Prometheus) and he managed to get hold of a 3D printed version of the M41A rifle the Colonial Marines used in the film Aliens.

There is some work to do on this, it needs a light sand in places, the pieces attaching and filling then painting.

It will go with his Colonial Marines sidearm used in the film-the Heckler and Koch VP-70.

The VP-70 is resin copy of a real life firearm-these are made as props and do not go outside-just thought I would stress that for anybody reading.

Frost from Aliens with his VP-70.

My lad got it from Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/nicp8864 He hasn't got anymore but it could be worth sending him a message Paul, he may do another.

It was £100 + £15 although it was make an offer-I think laddo paid £100 all in, not cheap but cheaper than many others and more detailed than the heavy resin types I have see.

Righto, a update on this.

I wanted to smooth the plastic layers that show up, looks like it is made of wood :D  I was going to use some acetone and sponge and wipe but I could not guarantee that it would work ans since laddo paid £100 for it he wasn't happy about me knackering it up.

So, in the end, it was just glued, filled-fit wasn't brilliant despite sanding, filing and shaping   I also had to drill and pin to make it stronger.

This is where I am at the moment, four coats of high coat primer, three coats of satin black and a top coat of green. Looks brighter due to the flash.

There is some touch up work to do and then I can start to tone down and do some weathering.

Cracking Job Si. I like it. One day when I'm feeling very brave, I might buy and make the paper version of the Pulse Rifle. :S
