    Hi all

As I see a few gaps next year for GB's primarily for WWII aircrafts. (I know there is a Stuka GB but not for any other WWII aircraft)

I propose a GB for any kind of aircraft that took part during WWII. It can be any scale, civilian or military as long as it took part during WWII. Dioramas are allowed as well.

So the list of possible builds is HUGE!

At the end of the GB (as I'm doing with my other GB) I will make a video slideshow showing pictures of each completed model.

I propose a start date of April and end at Sep 2017.

Let me know what you all think!

OK Bob, WWII is good for me, but I can't help thinking the subject should be narrowed down a bit. Single engine / twin or more engines, nationality etc.

I am interested but as the others have said maybe it should be narrowed down a little.

I am also concerned on the timing as it will run at the same time as the Stuka GB to which I have committed, and possibly other interested people. maybe consider bringing it forward to January start or push back to July so there is less overlap.

How about a Nightfighters GB? That covers many different aircraft types on both sides & isn't one we've had before... to the best of my knowledge.

I'm not suggesting this just because I've got the Revell 1/32 He-219 in the stash you know ;)

    Thanks all,

Righteo so I've taken both suggestions on board. I have decided to narrow down the topic... but not too narrow it is still very broad as this is more my style and I feel it helps get in maximum participants.

    So the topic is now

    WWII Allied Aircraft GB

Any allied aircraft that took part in WWII, any scale, and dioramas are allowed. Enter as many times as you like.

Now I feel this is not too broad, as their is an Allied Tank GB - which is also a broad topic so this is along the same lines as that.

As for dates I'm open to suggestions

There are quite a few GBs at the start of the year and quite a few at the end too, which is why I wanted to sandwhich this in the middle of the year, but as Dave pointed out it is overlapping with the Stuka GB

    How does

     15 May 2016 - 15 Oct 2016 sound?

you'll be 2.5 months into the Stuka GB and you'll have 2.5 months after it ends?

As It happens I have an He 219 in the cupboard too. It comprises my entire stash! Also, being in Berlin for a couple of weeks makes night fighters spring to mind :)

All in all a night fighter build sounds like a splendid idea.

    Cheers

Well I would be... if I could find the thread that proposed said GB! Having looked through all the 2017 GB posts, I can't find any mention of it.

This one is not a proposed GB, it is one of the set GB's by the forum. http://www.scale-models.co.uk/topic/26990-welcome-to-the-2017-forum-gbs/

Bob. The idea with these suggested GB's is to try and be as close a group as possible. Looking at the other suggested builds kind of points the way. I also fear that just making it Allied Aircraft is still to wide a format and seeing that the Allied/Axis split here amongst  the aircraft builders is 50/50'ish, you have already cut halv of them off.
If you can get the required participants allied aircraft it is.

My apologies, I thought we were talking about a 'members proposition' rather than one of the .. umm.. 'official' GBs.

Yep so the topic is now changed. I donot know if people are reading the replies. But the topic is changed. This is as narrow as I like it.

    WWII Allied Aircraft

Any aircraft any scale, as long as it was part of the Allies. You can build your Night Fighters in this now if you wish too!

    Dates currently are

    15 May - 15 Oct 2017

Please let me know if any one is interested with a "count me in" or similar reply!
