Hi guys,

I've decided to build this one for the GB as I had it in the stash, and who doesn't love a Hog.

As I understand it, it's not the best kit in the world so I will do the best I can with it, plus it was only a tenner on eBay.

I've invested in some AM parts to tart the front end up a bit. :smiling3:

Well, I made a start on this tonight, but didn't get very far as I realised one of the first jobs was to glue some weight into the nose.

After puzzling what I could use I realised I have plenty of the perfect lead weights in the form of .357 magnum bullets from my reloading box. Now I need to wait for the gorilla glue to dry. :smiling3:

Oh, i had one of those A-10's years and years ago. Have fun, IIRC it had a working opening and closing canopy

Very apt weights I must say, cool. Nice work so far Bob.

Someone said if the A-10 is the hand of God then the GAU-8 Avenger is his middle finger.

Managed to get a lot done this weekend. :smiling3:

Finished up the cockpit and got it installed. I will have to fit the bang seat later as it's slightly too tall for the canopy to close over it. Not a problem as I'm going to model it canopy up, so will add it in after painting.

The PE was designed for the hobby boss kit (couldn't find one for Tamiya) so took a little bit of fiddling to get it to fit, but I think it came out ok.

Also got the wings and tail on, only a small amount of filler needed which was a bonus.

Cheers Ian. :smiling3:

The Aries resin seat is a work of art, particularly compared to the kit seat.

Cheers Dave. :smiling3:

Yes, the gun was well worth the investment, although it was a tricky bugger to get lined up and glued. :smiling5:

Still needs a bit of clean up where the CA splurged out, and I have to figure out how I'm going to mount it. My plan at the moment is to drill out the kit shroud and fit the gun into it.

It all looks great. So I imagine it wasn't such a dodgy kit after all ?
