Whilst passing an abandoned Syrian SU-100 tank, the Commander of the Israeli M-50 has spotted a potential target.....

The tanks are brush painted with a mixture of acrylics and Humbrol enamels. I've piled all sorts of nonsense onto the M-50. I'm not bothered if they are not historically accurate, it was just good fun to root in my spares box and see what I could use.

I had the Russian tank languishing in a box, so I came up with the idea of re-painting it in Syrian '60's cammo colours and putting it alongside the M-50.

The simple base is a chunk of thick polystyrene packing from a washing machine, cut to suit and painted with household emulsion, then sprinkled with smashed stones. The barricade is made from kitchen foil corrugated sheets and cocktail sticks, with more rubble piled up on to it.

I hope you approve - I hope my Grandson does too!

Thanks boys.

Ralph, one thing's for sure, he ain't getting it back!  Well, he might - if he's a good boy.

I noticed most of the photos I've seen of this conflict are in B/W, so I couldn't resist a play - i think I prefer them to the colour ones.

Thanks everyone.

Moni', thanks, yes, I kept the base simple, as sometimes, as you will know, if this bit is overdone it can detract from the actual model. Apart from anything else, because of the amount of gravel I've been nicking from it, my drive is starting to make it look like my hair - Thin in places!

Joe, David, Scott and Steve, thank you all for your great comments on my tank(s)

My son came visiting me a couple of hours ago and on seeing the model said he would send my grandson along to see his finished kit!....Got no respect, the younger generation.

Thanks again,

Ron

Thanks Ian.

The SU -100 has been languishing with bits missing in a shoe box for quite some time, so it was nice to revamp it in Syrian Army cammo colours and bring it out into the daylight for a while......

Thanks Ian, yes, the dio. gave it a new lease of life, but it will soon go back in the box whence it came, along with the M.50 for company....but I'll leave it up to my Grandson to decide their joint fate.

Cheers Terry, I'm glad you like it. Hard to spot, but there is water. It's in the canteen hanging on the turret rail thingy, just below the antenna!..(Pic. 4)... ;)

i hope members will incorporate the S.M. 'Badge' in future builds. It used to be fun trying to spot it!......and the lads reprimanding those who forgot it's inclusion.
