Hi all, here at last is my contribution to the G.B. 'Sniper'

It's in 1/72 scale.

The farm buildings are all out of my imagination and built of polystyrene. To get the scale something like I marked around a figure the size of a doorway, the rest I just used my 'eye' until it looked something like right. I won't go through the build as I did that in the opening 'Sniper' description. Suffice to say that it's been great fun to do and a new experience for me to boot!

O.K., the story:-

The American Infantry having landed in Normandy are pushing inland. They have come across a derilict farm and as they approached one of their number has been shot by a sniper. He survived, but has been evacuated to the rear.

The Squad leader has ordered his men to surround the building and "Flush 'im out...NOW!'

They know roughly where he is, so have all the entrances covered prior to storming the place.

The sniper, up in the barn rafters, has seen what is happening. Realising he is surrounded and fearing the Americans will show no mercy for shooting one of their men, he has taken his pistol and killed himself.........

Here are a selection of pictures of the incident. I have included a few in colour.

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it! All comments and suggestions (as long as they are humanly possible!) are more than welcome.

Cheers all and thanks for looking,

Ron

That Ron is the best Diorama that you have made without a doubt. Don't get me wrong the others have been great, but this one blows them off the table.

Well done Ron.

Thanks fellas for the great posts. I'm chuffed you all like this diorama.....

John, "Shoulders back, luvverly boy!"

You can all blame Steve (stona) for the inclusion of these general shots of the dio. It's nice that you want to see more photos Steve. I took them this morning when the sun, at last, was just popping up over the fields. I think it gives the pictures a sort of 'Dawn' Raid' look about them.

I hope you like the selection.

Cheers,

Ron

I've said it once and i'll say it again, 'outstanding Ron'. You're right, it does have a 'Dawn' Raid' look about it mate. I think they need to be quick though, i can hear a Tiger coming.

And thanks for the quote too, 'Move yerselves, move yerselves!'

Have fun, John
