Hello everybody I'm still here as both of my airship builds are stalled at present need to find a way of constructing 100+ chairs all the same size and shape
I present my latest build namely the 007 Aston Martin which I added extra detail due to it laking this although to be perfectly honest most of it is hidden anyway here is the 1st group of photo's to illustrate build so far
Basically I built the engine as per instructions decided it wasn't good enough did research on the net to see how other people had built theirs and went along the same route adding extra wiring and hoses to the engine bay and as later photographs show more detail espically the passenger compartment anyway comments always welcome good and bad

Regards

Colin

Part 2 set of photo's this section deals with the engine bay and start of the passenger section along with the dashboard the carpet looks a bit ragged but the seats cover most of the scrappy bits some it looks reasonable

Part 3 start of the assembly of the chasis and bodywork I don't normally post this amount of pictures but in this case they can illustrate better than any wording

nice work looking good be careful tho the rear axel might snap as my nephew leigh got 1 and that snapped as he put it it to placeand also 1 off the rear light wires was slightly short so he asked me to exstend it by soldering a peice of wire in the middle so it did not show apart from that it is looking great keep it up colin:D

Tell me about it the wires are real pain where they have been coiled up in the packing and wont lay flat they get in the way at every stage so far I had the speaker wire come off one side both the brake and accerletator wires have detatched and been resoldered on and one of the back light wires has pulled out of the socket which will plug into the main board link plug havent quite figured how to deal with that one yet will take note of the rear axle although mine is fitted to the rear subframe without any hassle so far
The other problem was screw identification why they used that many different sizes 26 I think is beyond me they could have probably done it with about 10 in my opinion

I agree colin should off used only 10 size 26, even my nephew got wound up about how many drifferent size 26 screws there is. The other thing is what they should off done is left the wires off instead off soldering them to the parts is to add a white box at each end off the wires and had the wires to the break light with female ends on stuck flush to the mould, so all you have to do is push them in to place after woulds and also have a grove in the model. For the wires to go down and lay there so they stay well out the way, that way they will not break or snap off whilst building it. :D

I agree totally snap on connectors would have made a lot more sense just hope but it probably isn't been looked at on the mustang and the delorean athough i believe one of these hails from the deaginstini stable so they may have used a different approach

Hi just found this one, I've been following a build of the delorean and the mustang did you have trouble getting any of the issues as the 2 I've been watching have had loads of trouble Eagle Moss say they have been issued but when they don't turn up and you complained they say they will resend them right away but the parts still have not arrived, been 3 months now and still missing parts, on reading it seems they're known for it, puts me off getting one.
Anyway your build looks great.

The Mustang I get from my local newsagent been collecting magazines from him for over 10 years never missed an issue the rule here is if you can find a good independant newsagent stick with them there like goldust compared to WH Smith Tesco's etc
The Delorean i have subscribed to because you get a showcase to put the model in at the end of the build so far they haven't missed an issue either heres hoping

i agree Colin snap on connectors would be easier for every one for any electrical wiring for cars sold in magazines:D

Well the Aston Martin has come to a halt due to lack of screw length to attach the front of the car to the chassis the screws are at least 3mm to short so I have ordered some 8mm long screws to address this shortcomming so until they arrive that's it for this model

Hmmm...
Something a bit strange there, as the supplied fixing screws are the right size. I had no problems with the length.
Are you sure you're using the correct screws, and that the body/chassis are mating correctly?
Of course, there's always the possibility they did supply the wrong screws.

I would search among all the screws you have from all the different parts - there are about 100 'spare' screws left over at the end of the build.
You might find a few the size you want.
