Been thinking about this overnight and I've definitely decided to 'park' it and return when I have 2-3 more kits under my belt.

Good plan. Build a few more kits that you can actually finish with the skills you have, thereby developing those skills more while also avoiding getting burned out on kits were you now feel like you’re fighting them all the way.
