Fernando - the pilot is nice although his right eye is a bit odd.
Wouter - thanks. I removed the cockpit masking without thinking but now I doubt it will matter really.
Rick - I bought the putty at a show. I have only used it this one time but it has worked well. It can be squeezed out with your fingers into a thin sheet. This can be cut with scissors. It sticks even to the vertical surfaces. It is best left to settle for an hour or so and the edges checked that they are 'down'. It is better than some similar stuff as it does not leave any marks/stains even on a very matt surface.
Peter - thanks. No laughing at my figure painting :smiling5:
Simon - :thumb2:
Ian - the Panzer Putty is pricey but as you say it works well and is reuseable. How many times I'm not sure.
Mick - the pilot is nice although the face is the weakest part which is a shame.
Dave - not come across that Clever Putty.
Ross - cheers mate

Great work with the camo. The figure looks nicely detailed. It will complement the plane well. Keep it comin mate

Looking good, I used the Panzer Putty on my little plane , thought it was the dogs. Gave such a clean line.
Did you use your light box for these photos?
John .

Hi all
Tony, Steve and John - sorry for the late replies.
Tony - good customer service doesn't cost much but must do the company good. People who read of my experience will think well of Eduard. They did do well.
Steve - the figure is well detailed but a little rough in the casting. My figure painting leaves a lot to be desired but hopefully as part of the whole scene it will be OK.
John - first time I have used the Panzer Putty but I like it. Yes all the photos are taken with the light box and camera on a tripod and set to have a 2 second delay.
The Spitfire is finished. All decalled and weathered. The finish is not as good as it should be. I airbrushed the primer on a very warm day and it went on slightly rough. My fault not a fault with the Stynylrez. I didn't sand it back well enough and so subsequent work was affected. It looks better in the photos than in reality! :tongue-out3:

Morning Jim,

Shame about the rough finish (not that I can see it) . Had a similar issue with my Marder where I don’t think I thinned my paint enough or it was too warm:confused:
I reckon you got away with it anyway...looks excellent sir:smiling4:

Hi Jim.
Like Si I couldn't see anything wrong with the paint finish.
Impressed with the photos, pleased that I got one, just need to test it .
Pilot coming on well.
John.

hi all
Alan, Lee, Peter, Jim, Steve, Si and John - your supportive comments are much appreciated. Thanks :thumb2:
Finished the pilot. As I have said I am not a figure painter and although this had loads of detail the cast was a bit rough in places. Being 1/48 didn't help either. The Optivisor lets me see fine but they haven't yet invented an 'anti hand shaking' device :tongue-out:

Just a simple grassy base to do.
