Hi all,

well as I had a week off work I've managed to get my Blue Angels plane finished, I know I was going to build the other 5 but I have had what I think is a better idea to build as many different aircraft from display teams around the world.

So hope you like the first of many

Comments always welcomed.

Fantastic work Adrian, very smart looking Hornet. Representative aircraft from display teams all over the world will add colour to your collection for sure, a good idea. I was looking forward to Fat Albert though.

Looks great Ade, I love these bright and shiny display aircraft.

Very pristine as I am sure the Blue Angels keep them, nicely done. Derek

That looks really nice ! I have it on good authority that there's one of these in the pipeline for me for Father's Day....what's the fit like? And are those decals on the wing/fin tips? If so, how did they go?

I've also had a similar idea about aerobatic teams. If you haven't already found it, try Aerobatic Display Teams, Flight Demonstration Squadrons, Aviation , it's not a bad place to start.

Cheers, Neil

I can't fault the fit at all, just take hede of the parts you have to cut off, one that it misses is on the back spin of the plane where the long yellow decal goes, if I built another I'd cut the little fin off to make applying the decal easier, up close I'm not happy with the way mine looks. The main wing tips are sprayed the decals were just awful when applied, and the ones on the other fins and tips have been touched up with paint on the edges to give the correct look. The paint is Mr Hobby and its actually Blue Angels blue ( H328 and Blue Angels yellow H329.

Thanks for the link, I'm managed to find several kits for other display teams, just waiting on pay day to order them, glad I got the Thunderbirds one from Modelzone the other week as it's now gone back to £19.99 as apposed to £5.99!

Well it's nice to see a bit of colour on the forum. And that comes from someone who only seems to build in green / brown / grey !!
