Finished: Airfix 1:72 Lightning F6

Hello everyone,

Here's my finally finished Lightning. Nice kit which captures the look of the Lightning well but it was not without its challenges to build.

I used Barracuda Studios resin cockpit tub and wheels and a pitot tube from Master Models.

I painted it with a combination of Stynylrez primer, Mr Hobby and Ammo acrylics and I used the kit supplied decals.

Very nice - my favourite fighter when I was a kid ! Great detail too

Thanks for the comments chaps!

Tony: nope it wasn't. If you look at the third photo you can see that the windscreen is slightly misaligned as a result of not being able to close the front of the fuselage perfectly. I'm pleased with it, but I'm also glad it's done!

That is a great result Matt. It is a challenging kit that's for sure
