hi all

i wonder if some clever chap can help me?

i need to motorize a ' head' so it can go up and down slowly

any ideas on what sort of motor , gearbox etc...

and is it possible to make it work using some sort of movement sensor??

I cannt give you much help but I have seen some kit somwhere on a Large Scale R/C tank site but sorry no idea where it was so yes there is some kit out there as for scale/actual size of it I have no idea try trawling through R/C tank sites

Sorry its not much in the way of help

You could try thinking of using a servo unit which will give you the nice slow movement you want, remove the feedback sensor on the top so that it will continually rotate as long as your signal is on it, then connect the servo arm to a con rod that operates a piston in a guide.

Basically the servo arm is then the crank so this would give you a nice slow reciprocating motion that you could then connect to your head.

Hi MIb, for motors have a look on our web site (Stourbridge Model Boat Club) 'useful contacts page' for Motors Direct, this guy Knows his stuff, you can ring him at any reasonable time and may have a motor to suit, regards small motion sensors try RS Components web site regards, Vic.
