I was sifting through the internet, trying to find some candidates for the coming group build. I have found a couple of good ones. However which ever one I chose, madness will follow.

Here is the first candidate

http://www.airplane-pictures.net/images/uploaded-images/2008-12/14/31209.jpg

The second candidate can been seen in the third post in this thread. I have removed the links here as they did not work!!!

The main problem with this one will be making the decals as I don't believe they have been done by anyone.

Anyone care to comment. I can't choose, but will probably end up doing them both anyway. Always fancied a Gripen and the Jag is just begging to be done.

I am collecting all the photos I can get hold of and once I get Photoshop loaded onto the wife PC I will have a go at making them myself. Seems rude not to (ab)use the new colour laser printer at work for some thing sensible!!!

Couldn't quite figure the scale of that model. My guess is that is a broken scale...

Right then thats quite enough of that!

The jury is still out on my final choice. I sort of accidently ordered a Gripen from John so I will have a think as to which way to go...first.

Sorry, back on track. I would go for the Viggen. My vote.

Hi Ian

They're both good schemes but the Viggen gets my vote because of the eyes on the canards - you can't help but look!

Sourcing decals could be a challenge though.

Cheers

Well the decals are on the way, the cockpit is ordered, so hopefully I will have that in a week or so.....

I might even have found out the paint colour so I think we have a winner. Or I will end up doing both, but for now the winner is ................................

..................... The spotty Jag!

There are no decals for that particular GRIPEN (its a C39 not a C37 pay attention at the back!!!!) There are some for a couple of the others, but not that one so its a photoshop and stick tape job.

So All I can do now is sit and wait for bits to arrive.

Right then Now that I have some thing to show:

The box:

The bits in the box:

The nightmare:

All I need now is the cockpit and seat. The cock-pit in the kit is, shall we just say, a bit bland. There should be one on its way from the nice people at NeOmega as I write this!

So looks like I have my work cut out with the decals on this one!

'Well you are in luck here Tony, 'cause this bugger has got loads of spots too. lol.

I'll get my coat.

Right then. I am at a bit of a stop at the moment. Got the kit, got the markings, still waiting for the cock-pit!!! I have done what I can and at the moment trying to build new flaps and wotsits. The Paragon sets are not to be found any longer in this universe, so its plastic card and scalpel time!!!

I have gotten the kits control surfaces cut out and replacements 70% made, just need a bit of detail. Panel lines have been scribed on the belly of the fuselage to as the kits ones are rather vague. On the belly at least!

If one of you lot has the Paragon resin Flaps I would like to talk with them..... :smiling:

So not a lot more I can do until the office turns up.
