This was kindly given to me by Peter Gillson of Sarnia Miniatures. The bust is part of Life Miniatures' Beginners Series, which tend to have less uniform to deal with than their other offerings. It's a two piece kit, just the head and torso with the pedestal incorporated. I wasn't going to run a thread, as it was only likely to take a couple of days, but as it now feels like part of the process to do so......

I've painted the face:

This was sheer heaven to work on - perfectly cast and beautifully modelled, though that does put extra onus on the painter to try and do it justice. Still the cap to do of course.

Peter.

Hi Peter,
I've been wanting to buy this bust for quite a while as it looks to be a good learning piece, looking forward to seeing what you make of it.

Just had time to do the cap today (shopping for son's 16th birthday):

I also did a bit more to the face around the jowls.

Not so mini Steve - he's already 6ft. Not remotely interested in modelling - he's going to be a guitar legend. Got all his presents in the music shop.
