In 1983 five MH-53e were assigned to the HC-4 Black Stallion Sq in Sigonella. CN 163057 was one of them first with number 40 then 45.

Here in Sicily and especially in Catania The Black Stallion are still remembered for their support during the eruption of Mt.Etna in 1983 when they carried huge concrete block on top of the mountain to block the lava flow.

The kit is the Italeri 1/72 with Eduard PE interior/exterior and some scratch building.

Francesco

Edit: Just discovered that pictures were looking ok on my phone but too dark on a PC. I tried to lighten them up (and add a frame ;) . Still pics are no good, I'll try to retake them this weekend.

Worth every great build gong you are going to get for this one Francecso. It has been a long and detailed build, the result is an amazing model of which you should be very proud.

SUPERB Francesco Like many I have watched this build come on. I still find it hard to believe it s only 1/72 scale with all the detailing you have done. If the 1/48th one I have in my sash comes out half as good as yours I would be very happy.

Great paint job Francesco, you have packed a lot of detail into a 1/72 model. Cheers Derek

Dear mates, I'm glad you like it, despite the thousands errors and the very bad pictures.

But this model has been a great challenge for me and I'm satisfied with the results.

Thank you again for supporting.

Ciao,

Francesco

A great build. There's so much detail on a helicopter with bits sticking out every where, it's like designers never bothered with aerodynamics.

That is outstanding! Love the exaust stains on the boom, looks like it spent some time in the hover or slow forward flight ;)
