Helmet and goggles done:

The helmet was fun to work on with all of that detail. The perspex in Sovet goggles was clear, so I've painted it as though the helmet is showing through, then given it a coat of gloss varnish to suggest shine.

Peter, this one has my attention. The helmet leather is superb.

Cheers,
Richard

Tim and Steve - Apologies for leaving you out of my last reply (blame the hay fever). Many thanks for your kind words.

Richard - Glad you like it so far.

Well, Steve was right and I got it finished today:

As I've found before with these busts, the finish on the torso was slightly under par compared with the head, but it painted up well enough.

Hi Peter,
That's another brilliant finish and it deserves it's place in the cabinet, can't wait to see what's next.

Another triumph Peter

Lovely contrast between the canvas strapping and the uniform with little studs of colour on the medals and shoulder boards.

Definitely a front row candidate in the cabinet.

It must be getting rather full these days?

Very well done

Paul, Jim and Steve - thanks very much. The cabinet is getting very full and is in need of a cull - evil laugh.......

Thanks Steve - Yes, a great sculpt to work on. I did start the sailor bust I bought with it, but hit problems and decided to shelve it for another day.
