I painted up the ordnance that came with the kit. The rocket tubes were so so and it took me awhile to figure out what the pods were and they turned out to be mini gun pods. The round black spots are supposed to be meshed vents. I wasn't going to drill and add mesh as I didn't have reference clear enough and would mean being able to see the gun tubes through the mesh. I settled for just painting black circles.

Just caught up on this one. Looks fantastic Richard. The pre shade is really good. Mine always looks like chewed string. Very clean and sharp throughout.

Hi Richard,
What better way to spend Saturday morning than catch up on your excellent build. Marvellous work

Thanks Tony, Russel, Tim and Si for those kind words.

Basically the airbrushing comes with years of practice and point of contact to the surface that I picked up as an Art Director. The lines are a minimum of 3 passes with extra diluted thin paint over and over until it appears. It's always a non stop flow from one side to the other left to right as I can't keep it straight from top down.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi, the weapons on the wing, masking of the wing lights are off...

VT78.jpg

Decals are on and wrinkling as the decal juice works. What I was surprised was the carrier film just disappears...I did cut it as close to the letters.

Then I opened the side windows and propped it at the bottom with a scratched lever similar to the old Ford or Mini car rear windows. At this close up you can see how bad the fit of the canopy is.

Thanks Andrew and Paul, the window prop was done for both sides so it's natural air-conditioning in the cockpit. :smiling2:

Thanks Jim, glad you like it. I'm happy I've managed to hone my skills through the years and haven't lost the enthusiasm with the kits I have built but more slowly this time around. Great hobby this is...lets you repeat and build on what you left off with new set of skills learned.

Cheers,
Richard
