Sorry for the lack of updates folks. As well as the family history project for a friend, I've been looking at editing a book which a recently-deceased friend was trying to publish, and I thought I'd try to get it publication-ready. Sadly I don't think it will work. Also had a couple of health issues to sort out!
For some reason the brushed Vallejo Aluminium paint hadn't hardened, so I airbrushed another coat over it, which seems to have hardened. The olive drab anti-glare panel and the red rudder have been brush-painted - I think the rudder will need another coat though.
The white ring around the nose will need a touch up but I think I'll do that after the
decals, there's a red flash that separates the olive drab from the white, so that should improve it a bit. The airbrushed aluminium looks OK in the photo but isn't so good in reality, as I had a problem with the
airbrush and applied too much paint! Also at some point I'd knocked off the radio aerial, so had to file down a bit of sprue to replace it. With a bit of luck the
decals can be applied tomorrow, then the wheels and prop can be fitted.
Hopefully I can make steadier progress on the next kit, which will probably be the
Airfix Operation Herrick Jackal to go with my Warrior. All the same colour, and an AFV so most of my mistakes can be covered by weathering!
Thanks for looking in.
Pete
