I know where there is one still boxed for sale locally but the shop owner (a very good friend of mine now for 25 years) is in Hospital quite ill. Hopefully he will make a full recovery. Not sure on the Price of the Perkasa though, but does look nice from your pics.

Regards.........Mark.

I have decided to restart work on my Fast patrol Boat and get it finished so I have ordered two MFA 850 Electric motors and I will get two propshafts, two propellers and two rudders and other things needed to get it into the water.

Well they should certainly shift it. I wouldn't want to be in the way of that at full power!!

I thought they would of come today as I ordered them on Saturday but looks as if I will get them next week now aswell as my Glue I ordered from them,I have the old Marlin 12v motor by MFA which is now the 800 and isn't that powerful so I went for the 850 to shift the boat and two of them should shift it pretty well.

Ordered some more bits for the boat on-line but need to get the two propshafts from my local model shop aswell as the timber I need to finish the hull off,as I couldn't find anyone on-line that had the stuff I need on there website so my local model shop will have to do.

Once I get these bits I will need to get the two ESC,4 12v Battery packs,Paint and some other bits and bobs I need.

Forgot that where I ordered my Huntsman from had the wood I needed so got that from them and I found that Gee Dee models sells the prop shafts I need so they have been ordered today from them,so I have no excuse not to finish the boat off now as I will have most of the bits needed to get her into the water and I will be ordering the ESC/Paint next month and the batteries the month after.

Got my wood yesterday from Hobbies of Dereham and got my other bits from Pandan models just waiting for the Prop shafts to arrive now and I took some photo of my boat as it is now,as last night I decided to remove the bow Sheeting as I wasn't happy how it was and part of the side sheeting too which I will replace with new Birch Ply.

I decided to remove the bow skins as they didn't look right for the boat as I wanted the front to look more like the real thing plus I need to extend the deck at the front as it was 10mm to short,so I will be filling that section in where the bow skins were with Balsa wood so I can get the right shape I need I also need to fit some new Birch Ply to the bottom of the boat where I removed the strips of Birch Ply.

As it should of been a complete piece instead of strips so I will cut a new piece for each side but will make a cardboard template first so the Ply sheeting fits right,I also need to glue abit more Balsa Wood in where I still have a hole on the bottom near the front of the boat as I ran out of Balsa Wood last time I worked on the boat.

I'll post a photo of the parts I bought for the boat later to night.

You've got your work cut out there Steven but if your anything like the majority of us you won't be happy until it's right!

10mm too short would be too much for me as well as I am sure it completely changed the shape of the front end which was so distinctive on these.

Good luck!

If I can get the front end near enough like the real thing I will be happy with it but Precedent were know for not making parts fit right and for parts being the wrong size,I can see some things being wrong on the Huntsman when I start on it later this year but I will get it built even if I have to alter bits to fit.

Decided to take a photo of the bits now than later so here is a Photo of the motors with there cooling coils, rudders, couplings,Brass Props L/H and R/H,Water in/outlets,Water pump, tubing.

Hi,

can i ask what size the model is as i'm currently trying to shoe-horn a torpedo 850 into the smaller all wood Perkasa, a project started many moons ago.

thanks, Jethro.

Hi Jethro mine is the 49" version which I got over 10yrs ago I also have a 46 1/2" Huntsman waiting to be built once this one is done,my two 19" propshafts arrived this afternoon so I am looking forward to fitting this lot into the boat.

I have decided upon using two 6v 10Ah Lead Acid Battery Pack wired together to give 12v 20Ah to power the two MFA 850,which I will get next month with a new charger for them and the two ESC.

Cheers,

i've got that Huntsman on stand-by and was thinking along the same lines regarding motors. Perkasa's been on hold for about 4 years and recently retrieved from a dark corner.Started sealing hull with light weight glass cloth

to strengthen balsa block bow.:exercise4:
