The landing gear is assembled (broke both legs off, they are fragile) and re-fixed them with super glue. Also the propeller and machine guns are fixed into place. The wheels don't fit into the pins provided, and if you fiddle with them too much you risk breaking the landing gear off. The gear struts are strong, but the pin that holds them in place is not.

And at the end of play today we have an assembled and painted Saetta, ready for gloss. I'll give those rough bits of paint a light rub down before the gloss varnish is sprayed on.

Well this one nearly passed me by. Great work on the painting. So, did you count how many bits of white tack you used ??

Definitely worth the wait to see the camo.

And so you should be happy with the result :smiling3: .

I was going to say Blu tak, but it looked white on my screen....................Always go with your first decision !!!

Serves you right Colin! A daft question always deserves a daft answer! 9_9 It's only idiots like me that count that sort of stuff - Joe's far too sensible.

Cheers guys, thanks for the comments and likes.

The Saetta was glossed for decals, and the decals applied. Nothing complicated about the decals for this kit. I have to say, the decals are superb, even the Aer Macchi Saetta writing on the tail cone is readable.

Flat coat next once this is dry, and then I'll remove the masks off the canopy.

Great little model Joe. I will have to remember the masking technique for the camouflage.
