I have been wondering for a while now if there is any such thing as a “Rite of Passage” for model builders and if there is, what models should be part of the modeller’s journey. A strong contender has to be a Lancaster and believe it or not I have never built one before. Earlier this year I donated a Hawk and Hurricane to my daughter’s school; the classes are named after aircraft so seeing as she is in Lancaster class this year I have an excuse to build this loft filler.

Box lid, sprues and decals are below so belt up and chocks away for an out of the box build - paint masks will be used though.

Hi Rick
I'm in. Planes do not get more iconic than a Lancaster. And a dam buster as well.

I'll be watching with interest, I have the Marks & Spencer boxing of the Revell Lancaster waiting to be built.

(pulls up a chair).

I'm in. I've been thinking recently of building a WW2 bomber so I'll watch and see how it's done. :smiling3:

One of my first builds when returning to the hobby was the original Airfix Lancaster (think rivets - lots of) and I haven't built one since. So, it will be nice to watch this one being built.

I too have this kit, and it looks to be a nice mould. Hopefully a lot easier than the Shackleton :smiling3:
