This is my completed entry for this GB, less weapons. I used Hasegawa's 74 Sqn boxing of this kit but I wanted to model a scheme not seen that often. Using Xtradecal's X48-071 decal sheet and the kit's stencils I created this two tone grey Air Defence scheme. The ejection seats, wheels, intake covers and instrument panel are aftermarket. I also have a set of AIM-9 sidewinders from Eduard to fit at some later date.
This is quite a nice kit to build with some filler and plasticard shimming required, the shimming was needed at the forward wing to lower fuselage join, I also added some plasticard behind the intake panel so it didn't have a big void there. There is a small fairing just above the tail one/drag chute cover that needs to be manipulated to form a V shape.
Weathering is based on various photos found in books and online and are more of a blend of weathering effects rather than a specific airframe.
I am really happy with the outcome of this and it marks a step forward in my modelling abilities if I can be so bold to say so.

Thanks for looking.

Now with the tools of the trade...skyflash missiles were from the kit while the sidewinders are Eduard Brassin.
I am very pleased to report that this model won 1st place in my local model club's monthly competition.

That's a great looking Phantom Rick. The bit you refer to above the drag chute door is a fuel dump mast. Half of its miss ing from my kit!.

Nice job!

There are a lot of stencils on this aircraft. Must have taken a while to get all those down.

Congratulations on winning 1st place :smiling3:
