Buckle up boys and girls for my Shackleton build. I've been meaning to post these pictures for a while but a business trip to Slovenia has prevented me from doing so...I left my camera with thes pictures on at home.

This will be out of the box and likely to take me a while to complete.

That looks quite intensive, a lot of decal stencils too. Look forward to seeing more in due course Rick.

"Intensive"? Very apt for the stencilling stage that I am not looking forward to.

Some more sub assemblies glued together before priming for the interior colours, I will have spend some time converting the Humbrol codes to Vallejo.

Rather disappointingly one of the fuselage halves has some sink marks.

I know what you mean, I've been waiting for a build for a while.

Shouldn't be a problem, as they rarely had a smooth finish in service!

Oh, lovely! No pressure then!
Don't kid yourself - LOADS of pressure and intense scrutiny are the order of the day (or build, as it maybe)

Some paint put down on the interior and flight deck. Other areas like the bomb bay roof, flaps and landing gear bays have also been done while the opportunity presented itself.

I don't build many aircraft but certain types really appeal. The Shackleton is one of those. Ever since I saw the one at Newark Air museum, the Mr3/3 with what looks like a giant spark plug sticking out the top, I have had a soft spot for the venerable Shackleton so I look forward to seeing yours come together.
