After figuring out that the windows are masked after fitting due to some neat framing on them they all got fitted nicely. Now that the primer has been applied you can see there is still some work to do to fill some sink marks on the top of the fuselage - a disappointment with a new tool kit.

I've primed all parts now and laid down the first coat of white on the wings and fuselage. The tail plane and other parts to add later have had a coat of DSG and progress on all those propellers has been made, I painted the red and white tips instead of all the decals provided, some lines are a bit wonky and need straightened.

I think I have also solved my spinner colour, I used VMA 71.008 pale blue which looks okay to me.

Nice to see some progress. If I'm right, this could be the fourth Shackleton on the forum in the last few months.

The basic white and dark sea grey are on but I didn't mask around the flight deck window properly and will have to apply white again. The upper surfaces of DSG have been lightened a little to replicate fading.

Cockpit framing and anti glare done. No more work on this for a week or two due to an overseas trip.

just caught up with this one rick , its looking great despite the now well documented problems. Its very worrying that a brand new release can have issues like sink marks and poor fitting parts , come on airfix get it sorted!  Its nice to see the white/grey scheme too , its going to look mighty impressive mate , keep at it , cheers tony

Forgive me modellers for it has been three months since my last post in this thread. And with the amount of decals to apply on this bird it may be another three before I post again! At last some colour added with the small amount of decals applied so far.

Looking nice mate. Should look pretty cool. Is it going to be clean or weathered a heap?

Second session of decals. The roundel and letters on the starboard side could be troublesome as they are applied over a fairing each. And I still have nearly all of the stencils to apply.

How do I solve these problems? I think the roundel is straightforward to fix with a touch of paint and gentle application of microsol/set. But that deal on the nose is trickier to fathom. Both are applied over a bulged fairing.

All help appreciated.

TIA
