Scale collectables 1/10th British Chindit 1943 Bust

This bust represents a British Chindit on operations in Burma in 1943. The Chindits were a long range penetration group set up to harass Japanese communications and supply lines deep in enemy territory and who were supplied by air which allowed them to stay in the field for months

The 77th Indian Infantry Brigade (Chindits) were made up from various British and Indian units and this soldier wears the cap badge of The Kings Liverpool Regiment showing that is where he originates from

The harsh conditions endured by the Chindits took a massive toll and many soldiers returning from missions never deployed in the field again due to illness and disease

Just had a primer coat added for now;

Started on the flesh work, off to the drier for a good day;

Quite a nice sculpt Steve, but he's way too neat looking for me. His shirt should be totally creased and wrinkled and saggy. I don't know if you can create the effect in the painting?

I know what you mean, will need to dirty and sweat him up and see if that helps, perhaps he just recently swapped his shirt ?

Updated his flesh, added a few more lights, barok red to give him some life. Painted his dogtag with SIlver printers ink, mixed with black to start with then, touched in with just silver. Acrlyic base tones added ready for oils

Thought he was looking a bit ‘Pasty’ so added a raw umber filter, going to leave his head alone before I totally fk it up

Added a bit more blue tint and barok red for his cheeks. Just a couple of touch ups needed on his shirt and can then start to add highlights, fades and dirt
