A late evening from Race Towers. Another sunny day here, no sight of those storms that have caused so much trouble. Only caused the green house to be full of hanging baskets , considering they had only been put out earlier in the week .

Moving on , thanks for the comments, sea foam thread has been started, so Paul there is a link to the seed supplier . Si and Jim have already sent off for some , so Cpl Jones hurry up .
Joe your always welcome.
Having had a busy week in the garden the bench has been deserted , but a few hrs here and there have seen the Russian figures progress steadily. A total of 10 , I give you .
IMG_2883.JPGIMG_2884.JPG

Some of you might remember the Maxim gun. Found that one of the Tamiya figures does match the gun, so pleased about that . Just makes it slightly different.

Eldest daughter was taken into hospital earlier to night, with severe back pain. This was following a rush to hospital a couple of weeks ago , only to be told a review will be made in 2 months. This time shes was given Morphine to stop the pain, and has been told the surgeon will check on her tomorrow. All caused by a fall several years ago in which her spine must have been damaged.
Never ends does it .

Well all things being ok above I should get this finished this week, some weapon slings have been painted , just need the tape to dry and they can be sliced and glued on . Then the placing, really looking forward to this as have no idea where all the Russians are going to go !
Thanks for following.
John.

Thanks Peter.
As you well know we just seem to lurch from crisis to the next !
Figures have come out well, those new brushes have been great to work with. Just need to concentrate on faces. But this time they will just have a wash.
John .

Very sorry to hear about your daughter's back problems. I don't think age matters at all, it's always scary when your kids aren't well.
Hope all gets better soon.

The Ivans look very good!

Wishing your daughters full recovery John. Family comes first so we'll be here for the final clash on the streets of Stalingrad.

Cheers,

Nice to the maxim! Figures are coming on well

There is no pain worse than back pain! Still suffering now but things do get easier. My heart goes out to your daughter and I wish her well

Good evening from Race Towers.

Firstly thanks for all the good wishes for Kay, we are going to see her tomorrow, but like all visitors will make it short and sweet .
Now excitement, yes we are nearly there, the Russian contingent are recovering from an oil wash. ..............yes I know.... you all said. I wanted and did try the acrylic ones, but they were so weak it would take numerous coats to achieve any great depth, cap in hand I returned to the oils.

Buried under the bench I found my old box of W & N oil paints, all the ones I bought a couple of months ago were already there.:flushed:.
Of course now being a member of the Tidy Bench Club I found numerous lost items on the floor and under stored rubbish during the massive tidy up . Including the wheels from my Kitten, several helmets, and one Russian sub machine gun, completely painted. IMG_2885.JPGIMG_2886.JPG
Promised myself to keep the floor clean this time, no promise about the bench though.:nerd:

This afternoon I took the dio outside into the sun, for some photos and to fix the German figures. Much easier to walk around the dio when on a table.

Like the Oscars I have to thank the following people, who have kindly donated .

Peter Day....... for the set of great German figures.

Bobby Dale ...... for a sprue of German figures.

Peter Gillson...... sending me some cast drain covers, sadly one now is under one of the Stugs.:anguished:.

Wouter .......... for confirming the Stug was indeed the correct version.

Alan Dewire... for his unflagging support in his weekly pms.

and to all those ex MM members who have followed along from day one, also the members on Scale -Model
who have joined in. I give you .

Absolutely bloomin' amazing John - a triumph! I thought from the first shot you been doing some demolition it's so realistic. You've certainly pushed yourself with this one and the end result is certainly worth the blood, sweat and tears. Well done.

Peter.
